I was out early at 05:30 collecting my recorder from last night which had captured 1 Moorhen, 1 Coot and 1 Little Grebe passing over calling during the night. I then spent about 4 hours walking around the area in bright sunshine and a light wind. Birds noted included 1 Green Sandpiper (94) which was a new bird for me on the patch which was heard calling at 05:45. Birds seen today were 7 Shelduck, 1 Brent Goose, 2 Mallard, 2 Grey Partridge, 1 Pheasant, 1 Stock Dove, 19 Woodpigeon, 6 Collared Dove, 1 Redshank, 3 Turnstone, 1 Dunlin, 43 Black headed Gull, 36 Mediterranean Gull east in small flocks calling, 7 Common Gull, c40 Herring Gull, 1 Great Black backed Gull, 2 Lesser Black backed Gull, 4 Great crested Grebe, 1 Fulmar patrolling the cliffs briefly, 5 Cormorant, 1 Green Woodpecker, 1 Kestrel, 1 Peregrine, 6 Jackdaw, 7 Magpie, 13 Carrion Crow, 2 Blue Tit, 3 Great Tit, 1 Skylark, c40 Sand Martin, 1 Swallow, 6 Chiffchaff and 1 Cetti's Warbler. Also seen were 6 Wren, 1 Firecrest, 1 Goldcrest, 15 Starling, 1 Song Thrush, 6 Blackbird, 3 Robin, 6 Dunnock, 14 House Sparrow, 5 Meadow Pipit, 4 Chaffinch, 9 Linnet, 1 Goldfinch and 1 Siskin (95) west.
