This morning started off at Bishopstone at dawn where despite the raw NE wind, I was able to hear 1 Grey Partridge, 1 Cetti's Warbler and 1 Pheasant. I then drove over to the Downs where the plan was for an hours seawatch and then a walk along the seawall, but with the wind increasing in strength, I ended up doing a seawatch for a few hours. Birds noted included 1 Shelduck, 2 Eider (92), a male and female flying east, 13 Common Scoter, 14 Feral Pigeon, 3 Woodpigeon, 33 Oystercatcher, 9 Curlew, 8 Turnstone, 12 Black headed Gull, 6 Mediterranean Gull east, 42 Common Gull, c50 Herring Gull, 8 Great Black headed Gull, 8 Lesser Black backed Gull, 7 Sandwich Tern (93), 3 Great crested Grebe, 2 Fulmar, 16 Gannet, 6 Cormorant, 1 Sparrowhawk, 1 Peregrine, 11 Carrion Crow and 12 Starling. Nocmig recording on the night of the 3rd produced 4 Moorhen flying over calling during the night.
