With a light west wind this morning, I had a couple of hours seawatching before an hour was spent walking around Bishopstone. Birds noted mainly flying west included 31 Teal, 20 Common Scoter, 7 Oystercatcher, 1 Golden Plover, 1 Whimbrel, 71 Black headed Gull, 22 Mediterranean Gull, 1 Common Gull, 151 Herring Gull, 2 Great Black backed Gull, 1 Lesser Black backed Gull, 2 Common Tern, c40 Commic Tern feeding way offshore, 12 Sandwich Tern, 15 Cormorant, 2 Little Egret, 1 Grey Heron distantly west at sea and 1 Peregrine. Bishopstone held 2 Stock Dove, 1 Great spotted Woodpecker, 1 Green Woodpecker, 1 Jay, 4 Sand Martin, 6 Swallow, 2 Long tailed Tit, 2 Blackcap, 2 Whitethroat, 1 juvenile Firecrest, 15 Starling, 1 Meadow Pipit, 1 Chaffinch and 2 Linnet. Nocmig recording Friday night produced 2 calling Ringed Plover. Still waiting for the big one!
Not just a Firecrest, but a juvenile, cool Marc.

I've not seen many juvenile Firecrests in my time so nice to catch up with one and nice to know they have bred on the patch this year. Take care.
