With only a couple of hours available this morning before a dentist appointment, I decided on a look at the sea in pretty flat calm conditions. Birds noted included 3 Teal, 4 Common Scoter, 12 Oystercatcher, 2 summer plumaged Grey Plover west, the first I have actually seen this year as the only other record was one heard on a live 'nocmig' session. There were 2 dark phase Arctic Skua west, 1 Golden Plover, 1 Turnstone, 11 Black headed Gull, 4 Great Black backed Gull, 2 Lesser Black backed Gull, 6 Mediterranean Gull, 179 Common Tern east early morning, 4 Sandwich Tern, 10 Cormorant, 1 Little Egret, 1 Peregrine and 40 Starling. Nocmig recording Wednesday night produced at least 3 Ringed Plover calls, 1 Lapwing and 2 Grey Heron.
