The plan this morning was to have an early seawatch in case any Terns were moving but on arriving in the area, there was a thick sea mist. Instead, I parked up at Bishopstone and had a wander around the area and then the seawall when the mist had lifted. Birds noted included 2 Shelduck, 1 Stock Dove, 2 Collared Dove, 12 Oystercatcher, 1 Ringed Plover, 1 Whimbrel, 1 Common Sandpiper, 44 Black headed Gull, 1 Mediterranean Gull, 1 Common Gull, 53 Herring Gull, 1 Great Black backed Gull, 1 Lesser Black backed Gull, 1 Common Tern, 12 Sandwich Tern and 7 Cormorant. There were 2 Little Egret, 1 Great spotted Woodpecker, 1 Green Woodpecker, 1 Sedge Warbler, 3 Reed Warbler, 4 Sand Martin, 3 Swallow, 1 Willow Warbler, 4 Chiffchaff, 2 Blackcap, 2 Lesser Whitethroat, 13 Whitethroat, 1 Whinchat, 1 Meadow Pipit and 4 Linnet. Nocmig recording Tuesday night produced a few calling Ringed Plover as well as Dunlin, Oystercatcher and Sandwich Tern heard.
