With the hope of some Terns moving early morning, I arrived for a seawatch for an hour on a flat calm sea at 05:20. Birds noted included 7 Teal, 42 Oystercatcher, 2 Redshank, 70 Black headed Gull, 14 Mediterranean Gull, 1 Common Gull, c40 Herring Gull, 4 Great Black backed Gull, 52 Common Tern west, 142 'Commic' Tern west at distance, 49 Sandwich Tern east, 25 Cormorant, 1 Little Egret, 3 Grey Heron west at sea, 2 Peregrine and 2 Pied Wagtail. With the sea going quiet, I then walked the whole patch in warm temperatures and noted 4 Mute Swan drifting west offshore, 7 Feral Pigeon, 1 Stock Dove, 12 Woodpigeon, 3 Collared Dove, 1 Sparrowhawk, 2 Great spotted Woodpecker, 1 Green Woodpecker, 1 Kestrel, 7 Sand Martin, 2 Swallow, 1 Willow Warbler, 2 Chiffchaff, 4 Blackcap, 2 Lesser Whitethroat, 15 Whitethroat, 1 Firecrest, 41 Starling, 45 House Sparrow, 1 Tree Pipit called a few times and landed in some trees on the Downs. I had good views and managed a few distant record shots. There were 8 Linnet, 1 Goldfinch and as I sat on the clifftop at Bishopstone, 2 Snipe (135) flew in off the sea with 1 Wood Sandpiper (136) which called regularly as they flew south inland. The latter being a patch tick. Nocmig recording during Sunday night produced 1 Grey Heron, 1 Oystercatcher and 2 Ringed Plover.
Some welcome relaxing therapy to be had in your top two images sunrise and swans, did me the world of good to view them Marc.
