With a light wind this morning, I started by having a look at the sea for an hour before visiting Bishopstone Glen. Birds noted included 11 Brent Geese, 73 Woodpigeon, 1 Oystercatcher, 1 Lapwing west at sea, 1 Common Snipe, 4 Turnstone, 3 large Auk species distantly on the sea, 27 Black headed Gull, 3 Mediterranean Gull, c150 Herring Gull, 2 Great crested Grebe, 2 Red throated Diver, 13 Cormorant, 4 Little Egret, 2 Peregrine, 1 Wheatear, 1 Great spotted Woodpecker and 1 Jackdaw. There were 2 Skylark, 3 Chiffchaff, 5 Goldcrest, 44 House Sparrow, 1 Grey Wagtail, 2 Pied Wagtail, 4 Meadow Pipit, 1 Rock Pipit, 65 Chaffinch west, 2 Linnet, 1 Redpoll and 4 Goldfinch. Bishopstone Glen drew another blank in the challenge of finding a Yellow browed Warbler.
