Birding the area Friday morning for a few hours in pleasant conditions produced 1 Shelduck, 2 Mallard, 1 Whimbrel, 2 Turnstone, 2 Mediterranean Gull, 4 Great crested Grebe, 1 Fulmar, 14 Gannet, 7 Cormorant, 1 Grey Heron west at sea, 1 Marsh Harrier in off the sea, 1 Great spotted Woodpecker, 1 Kestrel, 1 Peregrine, 1 Grasshopper Warbler (107) heard reeling briefly, c70 Sand Martin, 1 Swallow, 7 Chiffchaff, 7 Blackcap, 1 Lesser Whitethroat, 5 Common Whitethroat, 1 Firecrest, 2 Meadow Pipit, 11 Linnet and 1 Goldfinch. Nocmig recording Thursday night produced 2 Coot over and 1 Curlew. A quick look at the sea this morning and then a walk around the patch produced 2 Canada Geese east over the Downs, 2 Shelduck, 2 Oystercatcher, 1 Whimbrel, 3 Turnstone, 2 Mediterranean Gull, 4 Common Gull, 3 Great Black backed Gull, 2 Lesser Black backed Gull, 3 Great crested Grebe, 1 Fulmar, 5 Gannet, 1 Little egret, 1 Peregrine, 1 Jay, 6 Jackdaw, c80 Sand Martin, 1 Swallow, 7 Chiffchaff, 1 Cetti's Warbler, 1 Long tailed Tit, 6 Blackcap, 1 Lesser Whitethroat, 9 Common Whitethroat, 2 Firecrest, 1 Meadow Pipit, 3 Chaffinch, 24 Linnet, 4 Goldfinch and 2 Corn Bunting. Nocmig recording Friday night produced 1 Coot.
