I was out at 6am in the dark listening to the day waking up where later, I wandered along the seawall and then spent an hour on the clifftop looking out to see and watching a few birds passing over. Birds noted included 494 Brent Geese west between 10:30 - 11:30am, 4 Shelduck, 7 Wigeon, 1 Mallard, 1 Pintail, 14 Teal, 42 Common Scoter, 8 Grey Partridge at dawn, 2 Pheasant, 34 Woodpigeon, 1 Coot, 1 Golden Plover, 3 Ringed Plover, 22 Lapwing flew out to sea, 1 Curlew, 6 Mediterranean Gull, c60 Black headed Gull, c70 Herring Gull, 1 Sandwich Tern, 2 Great crested Grebe, 3 Red throated Diver, 1 Gannet, 10 Cormorant, 1 Little Egret, 2 Grey Heron, 1 Sparrowhawk, 1 Common Buzzard, 1 Great spotted Woodpecker and 1 Green Woodpecker. There were 3 Rook, 1 Jackdaw, 1 Kestrel, 11 Skylark, 4 Chiffchaff, 4 Long tailed Tit, 1 Blackcap, 14 Goldcrest, 1 Firecrest, 85 Starling, 3 Redwing, 3 Fieldfare, 1 Ring Ouzel briefly in bushes on the clifftop, 2 Stonechat, 15 Dunnock, 2 Grey Wagtail, 1 Pied Wagtail, 3 Meadow Pipit, 98 Chaffinch west, 4 Brambling (150) heard but not seen, 55 Linnet, 11 Redpoll, 12 Goldfinch and 4 Siskin. Despite a good search in the Glen, I failed to find any Yellow browed Warblers. Nocmig recording Friday night produced 1 Golden Plover and c40 Redwing calls.
